A few tidbits from the F1 world.

Racing Point F1 (aka Stroll) will be launching their car at the Toronto AutoShow on Feb.13!
Guessing the car wont stay on display there but a nice PR move nonetheless.

Rumours over the last few days that Schumacher is no longer bedridden, and is headed to a neurological centre in Texas. If true that would mean that he has retained some capacities (he cannot be bedridden or intubated), so there is some hope for progress. Reports that he has property in Texas where he would likely stay during the course of his treatment.

Nothing confirmed though, and doesn't sound like the family will make any statement.

if he's anywhere of 10% of his former self, he's lucky.

Interesting article about Schumi, written over the last few days.

I’d like to see the smaller teams battling more. So many good drivers that should be using their talents

This has been an ongoing issue with F1, you want to make the smaller teams more competitive? Allow teams to buy chassis instead of spending a huge amount of money on developing and building their own. Works for every other form of motorsport.

True. Its kind of a double edge sword. Having closer racing with all the teams would be nice, but I also like seeing all the different approaches teams take to solving problems

                          Ferrari Announcement - January 7 2019 | Scuderia Ferrari

After four years of untiring commitment and dedication, Maurizio Arrivabene is leaving the team. The decision was taken together with the company’s top management after lengthy discussions related to Maurizio’s long term personal interests as well as those of the team itself.

Ferrari would like to thank Maurizio for his valuable contribution to the team’s increasing competiveness over the past few years, and wish him the best for his future endeavours.

With immediate effect, Mattia Binotto will take over as Scuderia Ferrari’s Team Principal. All technical areas will continue to report directly to Mattia

research and development is the whole point of F1. Their reason for being.

Not surprised, but tricky move for Ferrari to navigate with the main sponsor Philip Morris. Arrivabene was an exec...

And they had to do something to keep Binotto in the family. Dude is a superstar. Was being courted by some of the top teams.

According to autosport.com Arrivabene had a "no compromise" management style which was starting to wear thin. Binotto has a gentler touch and is more accommodating of others' opinions and inputs. Further to what daft_mx5 said, Arrivabene was also pals with (or at least closely connected with) the ex El Supremo, Ecclestone.
