Nor can he buy him an F1 title.

Kids that make it to the NHL nowadays are not doing it through their house league system because they are standouts. They are playing spring hockey, summer hockey, skating clinics, junior A,B in different cities with mom and dad paying for it all. I would imagine football in the states is as bad or likely worse.

Did you feel the same about Danica Jeff?

What do you mean? Danica was not raised in a wealthy family. I’ve met her father a few times, and actually spoken to him about racing daughters in a racing environment. They put a lot of effort and money into her racing. She was also very fortunate to have some good backers early on. Like Stroll, she won lots on her way up the ladder. She used her sex appeal and marketability to get where she did, just like Lance is using daddy’s money. But at the end of the day, they still have to be good racers.

I see parallels between Danica and Lance; both used assets other than driving talent to get to the top levels of motorsport. Danica's was unique marketability, Lance's was family wealth. Yet people shit all over Lance all the time because "rich". I'm not a Lance fan but the bottom line is he is there, and he got there and is there, if anyone of us could I bet we would do the exact same. Is it fair? Life isn't fair.

You can probably say the same sort of thing about the top levels in ALL professions. How do you think jt came to the top office in the country? It sure wasn't a deep in depth knowledge of how gov't works or how policy is made.

How bout a guy like jamie dimon? Not a dummy but i would bet my last dollar he had lots of helping hands thru connection n shit like that to get to where he is now.

All that to repeat faster's remark. Life ain't fair and people will use the tools at hand to satisfy their ambition. Admitedly a bit of a grey area in terms of right or wrong

Budget cap would hopefully bring better racing, but might be hard to police.

I’d like to see the smaller teams battling more. So many good drivers that should be using their talents

The budget cap would be insane to police. I think the key to cutting costs is to find a way to limit the aero development. The aero has such a negative effect on the racing, and the development of it has no purpose outside of racing. The engine tech, the braking, the suspension to a degree, all have real world development potentials. The aero is just an arms race with unbelievable amounts of money being spent on it.

Maybe say at the beginning of the season, you can homogolate 3 sets of aero parts (front wings, rear wings, underbody) low downforce, high downforce and medium. You can choose any of them on any given weekend, but no new development.

                          Agree 100%.
Aero changes next year will help. Now that Alonso is gone, McLaren will have a good car. Still a few more years for Williams. Maybe both can be back in the fold for 2021.
