Titanium plates for sparks are probably the cheapest part on the car...

Wow, what a race. So sad for Leclerc. Going to be an interesting season.

Apparently a cylinder failure on the Ferrari, not sure what specifically.
Ferrari: Leclerc's Bahrain GP issue was cylinder failure, not MGU-H - F1 - Autosport Asked about suggestions the problem was related to the MGU-H, Binotto said:
"I don't know where the rumours came from.

"There was nothing wrong with the MGU-H.

"When something like that happens you try to move on the recovery in terms of any combustion control mapping that you may do, at least you try to change mappings.

"You try to see if there is any way to make it better. That was not the case today so we had to manage the race.

"It has been a brave decision to continue racing in those conditions. But at the end it was a third place that was important so probably the right decision."

Radio messages between Leclerc and the Ferrari pitwall suggested the car had lost its MGU-H recovery system, but team principal Mattia Binotto clarified that the issue was solely related to the internal combustion engine.

Binotto said an investigation to find the cause of the problem was taking place, and that Ferrari would carry out further checks to at its Maranello base and in practice for the Chinese Grand Prix.

"We are checking the engine now so we do not have yet a clear explanation of what happened," he said.

"It is an engine problem. We had miscombustion on one cylinder but [the reason is yet] to be understood.

"The engine will go back to Maranello for careful checks because when something like this happens you need to take your time to do your checks carefully. But the engine was running at the end of the race so it is still able to run.

"We will use it certainly on the Friday in China and we have an entire Friday to assess its behaviour, its functionality and its performance."

          What a freakin race!

Nice to see Hamilton giving props to Leclerc. What an even keel Leclerc is. Reminds me of Jules Bianchi ... guess he learned a lot from his godfather.

          Norris P6 was amazing.

Gasly’s time in RBR ... might be short.

Yup, even Albon is starting to show promise.

And Hulkenbrrg. It’s time for people to realize he’s a great Grand Prix driver. Pulled some Rivciardo moves on Ricciardo and was faster.

Seeing Sainz in the McLaren pass the RBR was pretty awesome. But then Max. Racing incident but just.

Just finished watching it. Gutted for leclerc. That was his win for sure.

so many battles all around. Norris in 6th awesome result. Raikonen bringing some good points for alpha.

Stroll. Probably continue his no points even with quicker car. Needs to learn to being clean and remain aggressive- avoid contact. Keeps up he’ll never gain any proper result even with better car.

Hulk has always been a solid top driver but just never had the right car. I love DannyRic, but he won't be able to beat his teammate that easily even once he gets used to the car. When I saw both Renaults out, I thought they had come together as they had been fighting for position.

As per your point about RBR, I think McLaren will be nipping at their heels.
