    So thinking about this.
The deal for Leclerc was done and signed by Marchionne before he kicked it.
    Kimi had to know.
Does that explain why he was outright still racing Seb and not playing the support role? He knew he had nothing to lose and no downside.

So was the Sauber deal one way to get him to play the team game for the rest of the season??

Doesn't seem like much motivation to go to Sauber. Would've made more sense to see him back at McLaren.

Apparently Kimi negotiated the Sauber ride without Ferrari.

I think Sauber is a pretty good choice, they have been around for a long time, never really been a contender but fairly consistent. Kimi can continue racing, when he gets the chance, fuck with some of the front runners, and cash his paycheques.

Interesting report that the young Schumacher could be racing with Toro Rosso next year...
Think he needs another year or two before F1.

I think Kimi can help them improve their car, and get higher into the midfield too, so when he does eventually retire, Ferrari may very well have two very good midfield development teams. He did help Lotus/Renault out a lot in 2012.

Their cars actually seem pretty reliable too.

Other than the first lap, and a couple of times where the leaders were coming through battling back markers the race was a total snoozer and uneventful. Always love to see the reactions of the drivers when things donít go their way, be it Lewis or Seb. Like little kids having a temper tantrum.

I fell asleep after the first safety car and woke up as the first round of pitstops started.

HAM had the control of the race all the way though and Ferrari messed up the strategy again to allow VER to regain 2nd despite a less than perfect stop. Good race for Verstappen. Great race from Alonso to go deep on his pitstop and run an uneventful race for 7th.

Perez and the red mist though.
Sure looks like he deliberately pushed Ocon into the wall, check out the onboard and his hand movement. It was embarrassing to see him not able to get by Sirotkin, Hulk then showed him how it's done.

Perez was a ticking time bomb.

Bottas was also whining about not getting close enough to pull a blue flag. I guess racing in essentially tunnels makes the aerodynamics suck.

It ended up being a tire preservation race. Long gone are the days of the three or four pit stop races where they just drove the wheels off the cars. Now the race pace is set by a different strategy, fuel, crazy tire rules. Etc.

Ah, bring back the Prost/Senna years.

Other than first lap and trying to lap the backmarkers who were battling, that was a crappy race.

    Fucking Perez.
