    Default Calabogie in the rain.

So it looks inevitable that our race tomorrow night will be wet. We have a set of Hoosier rain tires that are brand new. We are gonna try rain-x on the windshield, or just remove the windshield altogether.

I'm looking for advice on lines in the wet. The only time I've raced in the wet was in the stockcar on slicks and it wasn't pretty. Are there any places to avoid on the track that are really slick? I know your supposed to run off the racing line if possible, but are there places that this works, and places it doesn't?

    Thanks!!!

Inside quarry, huge puddles on front straight and back straight you should avoid.

Outside of 5-6 can be better same for 10, then cut inside for 11 gets really slick outside 12 on entry.

In heavy rain everything will be pretty obvious but the river running across the track just after 1 always surprises me.

If the track starts to dry out mid race and you are looking for puddles 5b has one on the inside curb that I always seem to run through...if I want to or not. I think with rains you'll be fine, on Kyle's weekend I ran pretty hard in the rain on fresh NT-01's and felt the car was still planted

If you're running Hoosier Wet tires, I would not worry to much. You learn as you go. Lap after lap. The racing line will be more slippery but it's still thefastest way around. You'll be fine. Laughing

What wing said. Stay away from the puddles, and aim for the grainy-looking pavement. Sometimes conditions can change very rapidly, one lap to the next.

Watch the exit of 13, it's the low point on the track and can be the last to dry out. Bent a fender there...

Hopefully you're wrong about the rain though... I want to race!

enter 1 mid track, avoids the puddles on the right in the braking zone, watch for river crossing braking zone into 2.
Stay mid track down rocky road, anyone trying to pass you, leave them the right side, they will have puddles to contend with and will concede to you. #racecraft.
Big puddle in the apex of 6. aka grants 5b?
stay online braking into 8, then stay deep inside of 8, lots of grip inside temptation.
outside of 10 is rarely used, decent grip.
Inside of 12 , dip into the mud, still works.
outside of 14 has decent grip, stay online in 15/16, watch for river crossing into 17, deep inside all quarry is so grippy, even in the dry, great passing opportunity there.

    your mileage may vary.
Gregk is a guy to learn from. He out qualified SPC in the rain on east track by 1.5 seconds.

Yeah inside of Quarry is killer. I remember that rain race I passed the field. Geoff was wondering why I was driving so inside of Quarry.... haha
