    Default Instructor - student headsets

Was searching for something else completely online and came across this:

    Trac Com Racecom Products

Not cheap, but perhaps better built than the chatter box?

Same price or better, couldn't be worse.

IMSA adapters are worth a mint.

    Oh, I saw $125.

Super annoying, these are just a CMOY amp FFS.

Well they seem to have improved on Chatterbox quite a bit:

    You have separate volume controls.

There's "sidetone" (your earpiece plays your voice back to you, like a regular desk phone does), which makes it much easier to get the volume level right (and regulates people who shout unnecessarily).

The student earpiece has a little strain relief to the stalk, which is important (I've got mine taped there now - dumb student tried to pull it out by the cable and broke it).

They have adapters for IMSA etc., so you don't have to jury-rig something.

These are all not-so-little things that the Chatterbox really lacks.

I hate my chatterbox. Either can't hear shit, or it is so loud (in only one ear) it actually makes me dizzy. I like the look of this unit. Have IMSA headsets in all my helmets already.

    Nice find Wing!

But there's a bigger point here. The 1-series is the last car that BMW engineered before the Germans, as a car-making culture, fell out of love with driving.

Yeah it looks solid. And solid clip connectors that won't fall out.

And a replaceable battery is nice. Can swap out during the day.

I just bought the new version because my old one started sucking big time. Hopefully this one is better.

Tandem Duo works pretty well, I've found. Physk used mine at SMP. Guess he hated it. Trish loved it hooked up to her Stilo with an adapter cable.

Seriously thinking a cell phone would be better than the chatterbox.
