    Despite not winning great day..

I get a call at 10Am, where are you? At home, I was suppose to help relieve if the two drivers got tired and needed a break. Well One of the drivers had an injury, he runs GT3 Cup and after an hour he was done for the day. I booted up to the track, got my gear on and was in the car at 11.

Can't see a thing, like really really bad, came in a couple of times for an air pipe and a rag on a stick. Lock up, hit the tires in 12, reverse out, marshals loved it lol. Got going again, went off again in 5. Nearly went off again in 12. Car was really hard to drive, locked up the tires way too easy and forget heal-toe was a nightmare. Russ tells me after the race, yeah it's impossible, just release clutch slowly.... would have been nice to know when I was driving.

Got out at 1 ish. Then at like 2:15? Russ says "I can't fucking see, is James ready?" Ummm ok, lovely out again blind.

So I go out, they tell me, just an hour and Russ will go back in. Okay. I'm driving..... track is drying a bit, wipers stop working.... thank god most of the rain stopped.

I'm driving and driving, "Can you stay out longer?" Yeah sure.

Driving for more, ... Hey guys I'm like running out of gas. Okay come in for tires and gas.

I come in, they fill and swap tires, I go back out.

They call me in at 5pm. Hey come in.

Okay, I come in. Man I'm tired.

How long was I out? Oh about 2 and a half hours, maybe 3. Hoping Chump didn't notice.

    LOL awesome.

    Screw rules.

I was out in the Longhill Golf Diesel. We were doing well until the end of my stint, 6 hr mark, the differential/final drive went and we were knocked out. I believe we were 7th, 1st in B class.

I was running steady 2:50-2:52s and I had just passed the leaders at that point, made it by Primo Trailer, Van Winden, and half a lap before it quit I made it by the TRC EC car (which was very satisfying).

Too bad about our time-bomb mechanical, that car is finally dialed in. Still has a throttle-cut on brakes but hopefully that will be sorted for the next race (has to be done in software). That car doesn't have the nuts to be a top contender in the dry but it is pretty capable in the rain. Lots of cars were all over the place though, I think someone was selling swampland ran lines or something.

Yeah, is this new that 5 and 10 rain line is to drive all the way around the outside?

I watched the TRC car do it for 3 laps until I passed him.

Yeah, a bunch of corners people were very wide and going fast/slow in strange places.

FWIW I saw brake lights on most cars but some were pretty dim. The 924S has super shitty/basically no lights, but they are so slow it feels like they must be on the brakes all the time.

One of our guys insisted that there was way more grip out at the bottom of 5. I'm skeptical but I didn't try it either. Honestly the grip seemed okay as long as you stayed out of the puddles.

Makes some sense - hardly anyone uses that part of the track in the dry so less rubber down there.

Great day, long day. Drivers all did a great job keeping the car on the track and out of the other cars. Doug, you were especially consistent and on pace!

I got home and fell right asleep!

People take the outside in Spoon as well, but you can end up off camber if you aren't careful or you over do it. You could see where the water was beading.

2 wide though 16 was interesting with the water down at the entry.

The outside of spoon is poopy IMO. so easy to end up in an off camber rhubarb escapade.
    Probably going to hell.

Yeah always so worried about the outside of spoon. But honestly I was nearly flat on the inside, so why go outside? Wasn't slippery there at all.

I passed a few people there on the outside though

I simply never had the opportunity at 16. Actually... now that I think about it, I did go inside on one of the slower cars right after the apex. So I guess I kinda did 16.

Did lots of passes braking into Quarry and 14.
