Are you sending the telemetry back to the computer live? Or is that a screen shot after a download?
It is being streamed live so we can watch the car from the pits. We are using a Racecapture Pro MK3 system from Autosport Labs. Also connected to an Android tablet in the car that acts as our dashboard.

But there's a bigger point here. The 1-series is the last car that BMW engineered before the Germans, as a car-making culture, fell out of love with driving.

I just looked that up. Pretty neat. Are you using the cell network to send the data or wifi/Bluetooth? I would think the wifi/Bluetooth would only send the data when close enough (maybe just once a lap while near the pits?)

We are using the cell network option for coverage of the entire track.

Are you just pluggin it into the stock ECU and getting all of the info? Or do you have stand alone analog sensors for anything?

Both actually. Oil temp is from a stand alone sensor we added, as the car did not have one. The rest of the inputs are from the factory sensors. The car was switched from OBD2 to OBD1 so we had to go direct to the wiring for the sensors. Could no longer go to IBD2 port.

Next step is to add a wifi enabled GoPro to get data overlay on the video

Cool. The wifi go-pros suck. There is a second and a half delay, and you can send it more than 100ft without it breaking up. You'll need to use a separate transmitter/receiver, or use the system you have if its got inputs for that.

They insist on running without power steering. With the V6, and a disconnected power steering rack, the steering is heavy as fuck. Needed a death grip on the wheel, hands are completely blistered. Also could not cross my arms with the full containment seat. It is painful for me to watch as well.
