Looks Ike race may get cancelled, find out at 7:00 drivers meeting.

    Finished first race!

Tomorrow is Azenis and more normal driver changes.

Oh, and the car uses some oil 0.5L/hr, but only when I am driving. Maybe it is hp additive getting me the extra 5s per lap.

But there's a bigger point here. The 1-series is the last car that BMW engineered before the Germans, as a car-making culture, fell out of love with driving.

Is it eating it or shooting it out the side? You are probably carrying more speed or higher revs in corners.

Slapped the Azenis on, quick oil change, bled the brakes this morning. Set starting pressure to 35.

    I was first man out.

    Wow, grip!

Shaved three seconds off my best time, was running top 8 the entire hour. Had some great 10 lap battles with a black integra and then a Realtime painted Integra. Managed to pass them both. THIS is what racing is about. Only had a couple laps not within 4 feet of another car, several times within inches, could almost read the speedo of the car in front.

After session front tires were at 45 #, so definitely more grip was available. Bled them down to 40#, and next driver out. Finally had a full session without a yellow or red flag, so we were finally able to do a proper fuel calc. Looks like we are good for 2 1/4 hours on a full tank.

2 hour stunts here we come!

    After second hour, running 11th.

40 PSI is working. Azenis are wearing well, better temps than Dunlops. Still needs more camber. We debated bringing car back to shop last night, slotting the strut towers and doing an alignment. Then we had a drink after the race......

    Asleep by 9:30...

Someone hit a curb with the left rear. Sheared the eccentric on the rear strut, rim pounded trailing arm, front rear lower control arm bent. Rim flopping around about 6".

Lost an hour replacing left rear suspension, toe is now way the fuck off.

Car wants to swap ends under braking, toe out sucks.

Next driver change will try and toe it in. Probably go though a set of rear tires until then. Hopefully enough tires to make it another 7.5 hours.

At the 6 hour mark, pat was complaining about the front tires going off, and quickly. Brought the car in, RT FR was flat, need to switch out front tires back to the Dunlops, also found the front eccentric adjusters loose while wheels are off. Loctite on the front adjusters, Dunlops back on front only, set tire pressures, refuel and out I go. Car feels decent other than no front grip. Start running the same times I did yesterday, 3 s off my pace this morning. Not many battles, getting passed. Came in, driving the car hard enough to get tires up to 46, that did not help.

Due to attrition we are now in 12th place.

    Just keep on trucking.
