But there's a bigger point here. The 1-series is the last car that BMW engineered before the Germans, as a car-making culture, fell out of love with driving.

+- 1minute lap depending on the car. One back stretch with a chicane that was put in place to slow down to lower speed before entering the oval and not to dukes of hazzard. Anything on the oval gets slippery has fuck when it rains due to rubber left on the pavement. Dont be afraid to be close to pit wall to turn in early into corner 2(pit exit).

Thats all i know from way back... If you need a hand i'm friend with a ASE instructor who knows the track in the same way Greg knows Bogie.

only takes 1 minute to learn this track. if carl doesn't win, the other cars are cheating or they hit him off.

it's a decent track.... they repaved it 3-4 years ago? from what I recall?

I did Carl's race school there... it's a handling track for sure...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autodr..._track_map.svg

if you're running this configuration, there's some sections tough on brakes especially turn 9 into 10... it was a 140 to 40km/h area.. 13 is decent...... might have a light tap on the brakes.... maybe the micra might be nothing or a lift only.

For 13-15, it depends if its raining or dry...... and if they still use that area for drags (15 to 1).

If it's dry, come out of 14-15 and almost come out to the wall and carry the speed..... if it's wet, stay on the inside at best of 15 as drag section is so slick in the wet.

In most part, the micra won't be braking.... probably just light taps to set up or lifts or simply full throttle....... it's a decent track and there will be lots of overtaking for sure...... if you can brake deep into 9-10, you'll pass so many there.....

Havn't been there for 5 or 6 years, but the track owner use to treat everyone like gold.
When we were running the Cascar, we got a call from the owner a week before the race asking if we were coming. We said no because we were out of money and he asked with a heavy French accent: "what you need?, beer, food, hotel, women..I get them for you"

They built a burnout pad in the campground too...soooo many burnouts.

There may also be a story about some beer, a track sweeper and the frontstrech wall, but that's for another day.

Good luck, and have fun wing!!!!

Looks like not only is the track kind of crap, so is the weekend. Most race weekends have a Friday practice. Nothing for this one.

So everything is on Saturday, practice, quali and 2 races. Uh.. That first lap will be interesting.

I had fun there in the chump car, and I did a time attack in the Rabbit, which would be similar to the Micra. You should have a good time, its a Micra sized track and for the power you have it should provide good racing. Lots of hard braking zones and if it rains you will have to hunt for grip. The drag strip start is at the exit onto the front straight in the oval, amongst the concrete walls, #recipefordisaster.

stay on the outside of 6-7-8 in rain, bus stop late brake for 9, worse case you go straight and give the position back. Pit suck, blend line joke, narrow, watch out for run offs.

so did I, door to door down the straight, who was going to lift first? not me lol

the cheap trick is I gave the position back right away at 11 but I then was carrying way more speed to take them in 12-13

that and the marshall would wave blue flag right at the beginning of braking zone, I look back and they are just exiting turn 8, wtf?!?
