    Default 2016 MCO Ice Racing...

Am I even allowed to post on something I know nothing about? Well, no reason to stop now I guess.

    I have questions:

    1. Who is allowed to race/who decides (can new 17 year old driver get in on this?)
    2. Is there always room for more teams?
    3. Doesn't this look like a great candidate? (As long as I get there firsth) http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/o...ationFlag=true

Please humour my need to look ridiculously far forward. Thanks.

I'm already working on getting my ice racer ready for next year. Never too early!

I don't know anything about the 4motion AWD system, but after talking to Shaun about the AWD BMW he was running last year, not all AWD systems are created equally. He was really struggling because the car was constantly freaking out and cutting power. Subarus are most popular because they're dumb: press loud pedal, wheels spin, sickmaladedriftyo. But really, whatever car is cheap and runs is best car. It's an absolute blast, no matter what you're driving.

I think there is an age limit though?

Also, will Capital City Speedway still be available considering that it is shut down?

Curious on the age limit...and whether this series will move if necessary. I guess that's something I should wait for...

You're right... the original owners still own the track; they just don't have anyone to run the place for the summer. So should be no problem for us.

    What Greg said... build it.

FWIW- its a sh!t ton of work to get the track built. Ask Greg K.
If you plan to race...you should plan to volunteer.

Cool. I'll present this as necessary to being in my car...won't be a problem.

    MCO's Snowcross Manager checking in.

We've recently been in discussion the owners and we are green to go ahead with winter activities this year. There are a few hurdles left to overcome, but we've got several months to organize ourselves. To answer your questions:
    1) IIRC, G2 is required... Will confirm.
    2) We haven't turned anyone away yet. Last year we had 15-20 cars start each race. More cars = more traffic = more fun!
    3) Didn't look at the ad. If it runs, has heat and is less than $500 then it's good.

Passat needs a timing belt, tires, and he's willing to let it go for $400. I'm not familiar with the costs involved with changing that belt but I would imagine that it's not worth it?

If you want to do the work, go for it, but lots of running cars go for that. Cars that won't pass e-test anymore are prime candidates since the sellers think you'll have to sink lots of money into it to get it "on the road".

Most cars just get delivered to the track and stay there all winter...then get towed out to the scrappers in the spring. Hoping I can maybe get in on it this year...last winter was just not good timing considering twins. Happy I got out to volunteer when I could!
