    Default Chump Car Thread

Schedule is out for Chump 2014!

    http://www.chumpcar.com/downloads/20...arSchedule.pdf

    So, for the Northern Region:

May 3/4, ICAR (Mirabel): 24 Hours!!!!!!
July 5/6, Bogie: Dual 7 Hours
August 16, St. Eustache: 12 Hours
    Sept 20, Calabogie: 12 Hours

    Damn, no Mosport next year.

    Get yer shit boxes ready!!!

Also looks like they are cracking down on the mods a bit more with the new rules. We are going to have to remove our adjustable shocks plus other stuff if we don't want any penalty laps.

But there's a bigger point here. The 1-series is the last car that BMW engineered before the Germans, as a car-making culture, fell out of love with driving.

Ya, it is funny, we can get the exact same valving in a non-adjustable shock. Just means we actually have to spend some money on the car. Doh!

Apparently St.Eustach was cancelled last year due to lack of attendance?

The better ones on the list are WG and VIR!

We are thinking about the Glen. Blue Armco FTW! Plus, it is nearly the exact same distance as Mosport.

Ha ha, we recently had a meeting about this. I think it might be around the $1500 mark + crash damage. (2 x 2 hr stint)

Dumb question? Why is Chump car so expensive cause I thought it was design to be a cheap race car series? Who pockets the $1,500 x 4 drivers lets say = $6,000 X how many car? 30 maybe = $180,000

All I care about is my Porsche... and like maybe 3 people. —Unknown

Actually the entry fee is about $1000/car.

$1500/driver is what teams would charge for an arrive-and-drive package.

actually it's very cheap to run - renting is a bit of a different story, but still.

Considering you get 4+hours of track time for $250/driver? That's cheaper than a lapping day, more seat time, and it's wheel to wheel racing!!!

    Default Chump Car Thread

Going rate is usually around $750 for a two hour stint on one race day. That includes entry fees, all consumables like gas, tires, brakes, getting the car to the track, etc etc etc. that is just show up with your gear and drive.

Go to a regional race, and you are paying double to triple that for 45-60 mins of racing, and quite often you have to supply your own tires.

The cheapest part of any racing is the car.

    Has the car owner.

All you guys split cost evenly on car repair, maintenance, consumables and mods I guess

We have 6 drivers, all costs split evenly. This year, it cost us each $680-750 per weekend.
