hey, it's been a while since i've been on here. picked up a genesis coupe, and i was wondering if there was gonna be any winter lapping this year, as i vaguely remember there being some before.

Just get studded tires, full body armour and bumper bars, a lift kit, remove your airbags, buy a new dd to replace genesis and you're good to go!

way to make a comeback nate, asking questions about shit you wont even be going to lol

actually, on a side note, i noticed that there's a car drop off date there. is that just for the weekend races, or for the winter season?

Winter season - Drop it off in January, leave it there 'til march.

Do the snowX - no chance of car-to-car contact... just have to mind the snowbanks.

For the icerace, definitely get a dedicated car.

Yikes. Hell of a way to break in your new car.

And Shawn may correct me, but I think you park your car there the whole winter....?

Don't most people use a junker/beater that gets left out there for the whole season?

so i'd have to leave it there all winter? and yeah, i should, but i'm still rocking the all seasons on it right now because i use the company truck 95% of the time.

does anyone know if the cars have to get left there all season?

You don't have to leave your car there but people usually use junkers as you tend to end up in snow banks if your pushing the limits and the track is usually pretty rough. Have fun!

It's a snow/ice covered dirt track, no? Not exactly smooth.

Yes and snow banks are usually pretty hard.

    1. You don't HAVE to leave your car there. It's only for people who aren't using street-legal cars.

    2. The track in in the parking lot of capital city speedway. The base is grass, gravel, and asphalt depending on where you are.

    3. The track is generally smooth (ice base) unless it's getting torn up. If that's the case, then we try and design around that part so that it can recover & reharden

    4. Yes, snowbanks can be hard. But so can the ones on the street (oh, and curbs are always hard). Drive to YOUR limit - tons of people take their street cars out (one of us drove a 2010 Audi S4 last year for an event). Risk of damage increases as you take more chances and/or push harder. Just come out and have fun!

Exact prices TBD, but should be somewhere around $35 for an MCO member and $45 for non-members. My goal is 6 to 8 runs/event.

    per event.

for the ice race, it will probably be in the neighborhood of $200-250/car (so if you have 3 drivers, it's around $67-$83 per driver)
