Come to the dark side.
Come to the dark side.
I've tried it, seems slower to me.

OUTSIDE FTW
I trust the racecar driver man.
Anytime; I'll run at your pace, no biggie.
I drive 8 differently depending on what car I drive. I think all the lines I use are similar in time, but feel more comfortable one way or another depending on the dynamics of the car. In the Bimmer I come inside really early, stay there for a while and then drive out for the last apex. In a Porsche I stick much tighter in for the whole arc. In the Esteem and a couple of Hondas I take the outside line.
Not sure I agree with Scott's line for quarry. At least, I've been successfull at passing a lot of people who follow his line![]()
Current toys:
1997 BMW 328is race car
2014 Chevy Silverado
2012 VW Golf R
Spent $1300 on new fasteners when building race car
Last I spoke to Bruce his theory was both lines were basically the same in terms of time, but outside is easier to do consistently.

Never liked outside. Little room for error at ludicrous speeds.
My honda liked the Scott Maxwell version in temptation - getting a straighter shot to 9a. The mustang likes what greg called the "school line", about 1.5 car widths from the outside edge of the track, turn in when the cone pops up between the tree and guardrail - more or less...carrying a little more speed up to the turn in point.
Had to "relearn" some stuff this year - was used to foot into carpet in the honda...that has a different effect in the mustang.
Wow... after re-reading Scott's line, my car does exactly what he says - oversteer going up 14, understeer in quarry to oversteer at wilson's..... crazy.
maybe my setup isn't that bad after all? just need to fix the nut behind the wheel??? hmmm.....
Lots to think about!

^ I want to ride along at some point.
Looks like a carnival ride from the side of the track.

Yeah but we aren't racing. I bet though you pass. On the inside and the outside guy gets a better run down the straight and has inside. Into 10 now

If i need to pass someone there... and need a point by that they arent giving... i take the inside line, aim fir the door of the guy on the outside line... get'em everytime. If im not battling for a position, outside line is my fastest.
