The great thing about these types of cars is that the rich americans will buy them up in droves, then in 2 years they will be bored of them and sell them to us poor canadians

said something about racing in fall 2015, so I guess sell now build later. pretty cool stuff if it works as advertised.

Looks like a toy in that pic.

Cause it is. Look at the size of the screws on the wing compared to say, the centre nuts of the wheels.

So Greg, why you think it's faster than a radical?

Aero might be better? It's got less power and more weight. About 200 lbs more and down about 20hp, so fairly significant. The closed cockpit should make it better for the straights though and it will have more torque.

Might not be as fast at the ragged edge of driving to extract every 10th of a second out there but will be faster when driven regular guys most of the time perhaps due to the extra torque of the motor.

There's so many custom car companies. I guess what makes this one a little more special is a spec race?

I think 2 new ones already came from japan... the VITA-01

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG2NIsbnWkU#t=4441 and some other one I forget.

learned about stohr this year, but stohr doesn't seem to have as big of a presence as radical and arial atom in media or something?

I remember seeing a used renault for $30k in zhuhai.

Kinda ironic to see the words prototype and spec in the same sentance. There have been quite a few of these "Spec" classes that claim to be affordable and cheap to maintain, but very few actually are. There are two types of spec classes. The ones that truely aim to cut costs and help get new racers involved, and the ones that are spec so that everyone has to buy the parts from a single source. The latter being an exsercise for profit more than anything.

This class looks like it has a few good ideas, but I wouldn't put any money on the series being a success.

I didn't actually look at the radicals specs. :P pretty close for 1/2 the price no? Maybe they'll race against each other.

if you price in a sequential gear box, radical is how much ? I Thought Bill was close to 120k for his rocket.

wing
December 13th, 2014, 08:32am
They are all sequential. Paddles are extra 10k
