Its been 2 years since I last went there. I still think itís one of the best track in North America. Itís fast, got lots of elevations and fast corners. Geoff was also there for his first time instruction with the BMW club. I think he loves it too.

I'm thinking of going sometime in August, who organizes the events ? Would like to know where to find a schedule and organizer to sign up. What's it like compared to CMP ?

The only way I know to get on track there is with the BMW Club of Quebec. Here’s the Calendar.

Its well organized and the instruction is very good.

I know the Qc Viper Club goes too but you need to be signed off for le Circuit

The track is a cross between Mosport and the Watkins Glen. Feels big. World class big. High speeds. Elevations. Fast corners. Chicane. Hairpin. Carousel. One of the longest straights.

The Boston chapter is running an event next weekend and I'm signed up. Looking forward to it... haven't been in two years.

You mean the Tesla Boston Chapter? That’s going to be the quietest lapping day ever at Tremblant

It's an annual event. I've been to it once before - very well run. They make you sit through classroom instruction, which gets redundant after a while, but the on-track instructors are excellent. Lots of track time. Amazing track. Well worth the trip.

Unfortunately registration is now closed. It was probably full anyway, I got an email a week ago saying there were only four slots left.

Just got back from Tremblant myself. Attended the Boston BMW Club "Bimmers Across the Border" event.

Had a blast. Weather was perfect. Love the 1-2-3 complex. Really liked the carousel - like Tempation only fun.

Only minor sour note - cracked a rear rotor during the last session. At least it waited until the end!

Here's one of the few clean laps that I got (lots of traffic):

Things I spotted that I'll try to find in my video when I have time - a fox standing on the side of the track, patiently waiting for the traffic to pass. The owner's helicopter preparing to take off at Corner 10. (It was in the air on the next lap but too high for the camera.)

Was having internet trouble earlier... I re-uploaded them.

Thanks - that was my best lap of the weekend. One of just a few laps where I never encountered another car.

The first time I went to Tremblant, a couple of years ago, I was very much a newbie. Was driving my old Infiniti sedan. They record everyone in a database and they still had my instructor's comments from back then, so they put me in the slower run group. My instructor tried to get me moved but I guess there were too many cars already. I didn't really care. But it did mean that I was doing a lot of passing. Only gave a handful of point-bys all weekend (mostly to instructors driving their own car). Everybody (well almost) was very good with giving point-bys so it didn't detract from the fun at all. Had an absolute blast.

Good oppurtunity for people who want to cut off their balls.

3 runs groups. women only, advanced women and men, and instructors. Says advanced must have verified experience at Tremblant.

Oh and maybe they updated their website?

Tomorrow has open lapping with or w/o instructor http://www.lecircuit.com/news.cfm?id=21

So the Bimmers Across the Border event conflicts with a PT race this year, but there are a bunch of dates for the Quebec club.

BMW Auto Club Quebec - Adavnced driver training (https://www.bmwautoclubquebec.com/)

Dates:

May 15 (Mon)
June 26, 27 (Mon/Tue)
July 19 (Wed)
August 21, 22 (Mon/Tue)
September 11 (Mon)

Anyone thinking of going to any of these?

Go with the BMW club of Quebec, or le Groupe Virage. I did not pass sound check with my Cayman and modified exhaust. If your exhaust is not OEM, i would not bother

If you're a non-member there's a "Non-member supplement" that can be applied towards membership in the BMW club.

There for the 21 and 22 of August . . . everything else is a challenge for me because of travel or work.

They test you for sound on the Track when you are full throttle at the red line, coming out of a turn, then black flag you and your day is done, no refund. . Sound check at Bogie is off track at 4,000 rpm. You get a sticker or you don't. You can't sound check off track at Tremblant. Sound check is done by a municipal employee who really enjoys his job.

What's the limit at Tremblant ? Just baby it around that corner ?

The same as Bogie, 91 decibels I think, but not sure exactly about the number. I was caught 2 decibels over the limit and the municipal worker, moves around the Track every session and his car is parked behind the gard rail. He is not easy to spot. I tried. First offense, they telll You about the problem and to fix it or go home. Of course I was short shifting the second session and looking for a silver Civic parked behind the Gard rail but he kicked me out way faster than the first time. I think I did 2 laps the second session.

Hard to know. My car doesn't feel loud to me inside the car compared to my G35. That was loud, but I never had an issue with the G at Tremblant. We are talking about 2 stupid decibels here. Sounds are notes, pitch, reverb, waves

Vette won't pass that's for sure, mustang maybe now but not when it's done
