Great race. Seb kept his foot down and got the win.
Great job by Alonso to grab key positions one by one, was hoping for a safety car near the end so we could have a run to the flag for the win. Massa had some great passes, which made up for him wrecking the car again.

Vettel knows to get that clean air and gap away from DRS, after a few first laps and him running in purple I knew it was his race. Not surprised he acts a little like MSC, he is his idol growing up, but I find he has a better sense of humour... for a german.

Happy for Bottas for staying calm and focused during the start, he could of slipped and crashed while defending.

Sad for the marshall :(

Great day with t yesterday at the GP, plan to go back next year fro sure.

We were in grandstand 12 where the Sauber went off and saw them take the car out of the way during the GP. Following the race I saw the same crew bring the Sauber back to the pits but we missed the accident and I didn't even know of the tragedy until this morning when I started reading about it on F1Pulse.com. Sad to hear, such a freak accident. I did think though, when they were towing the car out of the corner to get back on the green flag that these guys sure seem a little clumsy. This car was swinging back and forth and the guys walking alongside had to duck to not get bonked in the head. Geez...

Race was a blast. Sat in the drizzle all afternoon on Sat and couldn't have been happier, broiled in the sun the next day and loved it even more. I think t was impressed with the noise the most. Great to be surrounded by F1 fans all weekend.

Stand 12 , section 7, row GG. Completely on the left of the stand, closest to stand 11. Great seats, I mean bench.. Noise level was a joke compared to where we were last year 4 th row on the starting grid. Seriously 2 times less noise. Last year was unreal. My ears buzzed until the Wednesday I think since I didn't wanna wear ear plugs. This weekend I obviously didn't put them on and the buzzing stopped this morning :D

Craaaaaazy race. Pirelli got some 'splaining to do after this one.

Good for Vettel, Alonso was just commenting that his luck would run out.
Sucks for Hammy, but good run back to 4th. Alonso drove well to get up to 3rd, typical solid drive from him.

So my 7-year old son decided that he was writing a movie about Formula 1, since Daddy watches it so much.

He typed this up on Saturday night and finished it on Sunday morning while the British GP was on. Thought I'd share with like-minded folks.

Pirelli tire statement:

A series of different causes led to the tyre failures at Silverstone:

- We didn’t know the cars would be driving that fast.

- Uneven wear caused by too much turning right.

- The teams repeatedly put new wheels onto the cars too quickly.

- Excessive braking, accelerating and swerving about.

- Extremely sharp leaves on track.

- Failure to proceed to approved Pirelli stockist upon kerbing tyres

- We were asked to make shit tyres. Stop fucking complaining when the tyres are indeed shit.

Great race this morning. Actually I watched it when I came back from work. Vettel wins it again. Decent action throughout the whole race. Webber loses a wheel in the pits at lap 9th I think. Some camera guy gets it right in the back while filming. You clearly see it and its hilarious. They got fined close to 40,000$ for that mishap in the pits. Then a stalled F1 driverless started to go backwards and back on the track then take out a sign in the grass. Pretty odd :) Worth to watch the full race if you catch it in the next couple of days.

Formula 1 has banned television reporters and cameramen from the pit lane throughout all on-track sessions at grands prix.

The move comes in the wake of an incident at Sunday's German Grand Prix, in which a cameraman was injured by a loose wheel from Mark Webber's Red Bull.

If (when) Vettel wins the championship, it's going to put immense pressure on him to move on. He'll never be seen as one of the greats until he wins a championship with another team.
He's at RBR until 2015? After that he's pretty much signed to Ferrari. Don't think Alonso will want to be around when that happens.
A straight driver swap would make sense? Dunno.

And I think Alo's on contract until 2015 as well.

Pretty good race, some good action at least in the first half.

Vettel smoked past Hammy after Eau Rouge like he was driving a Marussia. And another terrific drive from Alonso to 2nd.
Idiot moves by Perez ("I did nothing wrong") and then Maldonado cutting across the track.

Jon.0
August 26th, 2013, 08:58am
The Maldonado move pissed me off.
"Our lines crossed as I was entering the pits. It was a difficult situation because I was fighting hard with the Sauber and I didn't see Di Resta on the outside as I turned toward the pitlane."
Fighting with the Sauber, gets the red mist, "oh shit, I forgot I was going to pit", doesn't notice that 2 cars have taken the outside line on him, turns to pit, clips Sutil, turns again, takes the rear off di Resta's car. And for the second turn-in, there's no way he was going to make the pit entrance. He only made it because he was able to "brake" against di Resta's car. As long as PDVSA keeps throwing money at Williams...

Ricciardo confirmed by RB. Good on him.

Recently Domenicali was saying he would like to extend Massa's contract. The more I think of it, I think they need to be rid of both of them. Ferrari has not done well during his tenure and if not for Alonso, would be running mid-pack.

So I can see DiResta doing well there, Hulk too. Both would partner Alonso well and not fracture the team like an Alonso/Raikonnen pairing. I think Alonso has done a great job of building the team around him, something Raikonnen was not able to do.

I can see Raikonnen staying put at Lotus although they don't have the big budget.

I thought Massa was the most underrated driver of the weekend.
Qualified ahead of Alonso (despite towing him around the track inQ3)
Took second at the start, but let Alonso pass him.
Got shafted by strategy to let Webber undercut him on stops.
Still...nearly made it to the podium.

He is the perfect #2 for Ferrari...shame they feel the need for change.

He is the perfect #2 for Ferrari...shame they feel the need for change.

Probably because he only digs in when he has to.
He needs to be up there battling with the Bulls (or whomever) up front like Alonso, but he doesn't.

I also question the strategy to pull Massa in for his pitstop instead or leaving him out to get in Vettel's way. But that's not Massa's fault.
I do miss the days of brilliant strategy by Brawn. I don't see much outside-the-box thinking at this team anymore. Newey and Brawn are in a class of their own....

The car was actually a gift from Gerhard Berger for saving his life. . .

This was discussed on Ferrarichat a few years ago -

"It is owned by CEA (the famous Cea lions), the italian private safety team operating on italian circuits especially during the F1 GP. This car was a gift of Gerhard Berger to that team, as thanks for the intervention that saved him his life during the Imola GP of 1989." With all the safety on the fuel cell and system even with nozzles pointed in the right place with 150L and less of fuel those fire systems are there to give more time and not likely to put out a fire.

It'll be a massive shakeup. Lotus is going to need Crashtor's money since Kimi is handing 2nd place to ferrari, so the rumours of the Hulk going to lotus aren't likely to pan out. Too bad, I really like him.

I like mclaren, but I can't stand whitmarsh. He's always so smarmy. Either come out and say Perez is out, or that he has a drive for next year. He keeps trying to say that there's no story and "that they're comfortable with their 2 drivers, but they won't confirm him for next year. So ya, he's likely out if they can find someone better.

Nothing official yet but...
McLaren are expected to replace Sergio Perez with Kevin Magnussen for the 2014 season, according to various media reports.

Guess that's it for Perez for F1 for now. Actually maybe that's why Lotus haven't announced their seat yet... Perez comes with serious Carlos Slim $$$, at least as much if not more than Maldonado. And he's way better than Maldonado.

Not a huge fan of Perez, but would pick him over Crashdonado. Especially after that idiot move at Spa.

I think Perez would actually be a good fit there.

At least when Perez crashes into someone, it isn't intentional. Monaco 2011 and 2012, Maldonado intentionally hit people.

Really? Would be awesome.
Kovalainen in the mix too apparently.

If Hulkenberg gets shafted because of all this shit it will be a shame.
