Mustang swerved to miss a rock and instead hit a bigger curb.

insaner6

untrue, mustang would just drive over big curb just like any other 4x4 truck.

$249 for 16 laps driving two exotic cars at Calabogie Motorsports Park (a $699 value)
$249 for 20 laps driving two exotic cars at Circuit iCar (a $699 value)

This groupon really is a crapshoot isn't it....

This is why I never bother with them, if all the info isn't in it, and there are stipulations like $5000 deposits it's certainly not $149!

It's been quiet about this now because events have been "postponed", but I would be very surprised if there will be anything happening at all with this deal.
Whoever has already paid for that, see that you get your money back!!! What I have been told, it will NOT happen.

I'm apparently one of the lucky people that managed to actually get to speak to the owner of dreamcar rentals. I phoned last week to inquire about the insurance deposit. Rang once, and he just answered "hello?" uhhhhh is this dream rentals??
"yes yes"

Anyhow, at the time he said the 5-7k deposit was not required for the bogie events.
Couple days later, my wife gets an email from groupon saying they're refunding the purchase as that groupon is no longer avail.

So sad:(

Is 'bogie scared of all the arm chair yahoos showing up? I assume they would get paid all the same.

1Morelap
July 18th, 2012, 08:00am
the rumors I heard were something like, Dream Car didn't call bogie before doing the sale. So no price determined and no schedule confirmed. DC just assumed those dates were available at some magical price and they could negotiate with bogie after they got their money from you. no dice.

Great idea, but I think this was the cart before the horse or something like that.

Didi Icar dates get cancelled too?

I also heard something along the lines of Dream Cars was planning on showing up for a "regular track day" without telling Bogie about it's customers...

Mind you this is just a rumor but would also explain why CMP just shut the door on the whole thing.

One of the dates they picked was a CMP lapping day, the other were ' private events' and one was a non scheduled day. Just wrong from the start. They need to book marshals/ambulance/towing instructors maybe? Too much liability at stake to just book time and show up. That approach would be fine for a place like shannonville.

I dont know about the "Great idea" thing. For a customer's point of view maybe .. hence it was sold out in no time.
But for the organizers it seems to me that this would never be a money-making idea for the price they offered it.

It was the same scam with ICar.

Does anybody know if DC Rentals actually have those cars that they advertised? I dont know about legit ...

Glad that Group-on is at least refunding the money to everyone.

My guess is they don't own the vehicles. They probably sublet them, so to speak, in the same way that individuals can buy a Mustang and throw them in the pool of CMP Mustang rentals. I believe http://ottawaecr.com does the same thing.
