Gentlemen:

This time is upon us, The GT series will be announced shortly, but to set up dates i need to know if weekday evenings work (like the 2011 series) or if you guys would prefer a Saturday or Sunday evening. There was talk last year of some people not being able to participate because of work conflicts and not being able to get to the track on time. There are no guarantees i can get Sunday to work, but if there is an overwhelming response for it, I may be able to swing it!

Let me know ASAP!

Thanks

Matt

Should have another option for "whatever". I'm kinda in that category. I would drive the car into work, then leave early for an "appointment".

I personally was able to make it work.

If there is a GT lite...I'd go for the weekday evening.

What do you mean by "GT Lite"?

I think he means 30 min race? Not enduro. That's what I took it as.

Ahhh, that makes sense! and yes the races will all be ~30-35 minutes so as not to torture the cars...or the drivers. Toying with the idea of the enduro again. We may just leave that to the Calabogie Cup.

sunday evenings may end up conflicting with us autocrossers..... but I'm sure we will make it work somehow

EDIT: Saturday evenings added to the schedule.

Id prefer Sats, but any evening still works.

I actually prefer weekday evenings. I love leaving work early to head up to the track. That makes the work day THAT much more fun.

But, that's just, as my work days are flexible.

Any classes this year?

minimum of 2 classes, more if more people show. Last year we saw two very distinct groups. Wing, and everyone else. But seriously, there was definitely a faster group last year, and so long as we have the racers to support more classes they will be there. I will be organizing this will time brackets including break-out times. There will also be points this year.
Any classes this year?

I'd be more inclined to join if it was a weekend.. I wanted to do this last summer but couldn't get away for the whole afternoon.

win one, get the next one free still?

Mechs02
December 9th, 2011, 06:40pm
That's currently the plan! Plus maybe something big for the class win at the end of the year!

Any evening is my vote.... and that means any evening that brings the most cars out. :)

I would prefer a weekday evening. On the weekend there is usually a larger group there and it would be hard to find room in the paddock to prepare the car ...
Wing better gets some Red Bull next year .. ;-)

voted for wkend evenings. simply because you can make a full day out of it and really enjoy it (and not loose have a days pay). i.e. wake up, breaky, R&T on the shitter, load car/trailer/truck whatever you have, have lunch, check MR, pack up fam, drive 1.5hrs to bogie w/o traffic jam, set up, chit chat, get ready, take a gitters dump, RACE, chit chat, load up, go have steaks and beers....you know, take it all in, life's too short to compress everything

I agree, but last year I compared it to a game of Golf once everything was running efficiently.

If you're already prepared, you're literally in and out in a few hours, back at work the next day wishing you were at the track still.

^ I hear ya...its just not the way I'd see myself attending. everyone's got different agendas.

I like both styles :)

Ya, and this is all for a 30 min race which makes my way overkill for the outcome...I know this is a poll for schedule not for input, but a couple heats would be cool. Get qualify, heat 1, heat 2 reverse order which would make the total points standing the real race!

Give it a shot first before you make judgement. It's not like anything else out there. :) It was a really good format IMO.

Plus, isn't the track more expensive to rent on weekends? I'm all for making it cheap

Mechs02
December 10th, 2011, 08:04pm
Leave the cost part up to me;) That's what sponsors are for :) ps if any knows any companies interested in sponsoring our series, keep me in the loop, i'm starting to canvas now!

Have you approached the Police if they'd want anything to do with it? Take it to the track kinda thing? Bad idea?

Thank you good sir.

Now I'll just need to see if I fall within the 2:30-2:45 lap times....

Mechs02
December 12th, 2011, 10:44am
Use that as a ball park, the GT track runs much differently. And we will have classes for faster and slower folks.

Would that work?!

RandomHer0
December 13th, 2011, 05:56pm
