I've been searching "hitch tire rack", "wheel carrier" and pretty much every combination I can think of and haven't found what that hitch is called and where to get it.

Help?

Not the same thing dude. Those require a 2 inch hitch and are quite heavy to begin with.

if there were enough people wanting these it'd be worthwhile making a bunch at a time.

If my garage would not be full of fucking crap that will go in the shed once I get it, I could have made a few. This is no rocket surgery. about 30-50$ in materials and 1 hour of time each.

I had one at some point, sold a long time ago.

Dave Taira(white with blue stripe miata) has one too.

that's what I was thinking...(the making part, not the crap part).

I wasnt sure I trusted that thing, you have to be really confident in your welding/welder.

The one and only time i've seen something happen with those is when some guy in the US had 6 tires on with a ghetto setup and the subframe ripped out when he hit a large bump.

I have no problem trusting them at all but personally, I prefer the small 4ftx4ft trailer option. You can also stuff your tools, jack, pop-up tent and suck on there and go.

I'm not familiar with trailer registration, etc... do you need a plate for something that small?

Home-made trailer plate, very cheap usually, not sure how it is in Ontario. In Quebec it's something like 40$ lifetime. You still need to insure it, usually under 40$ a year with most companies.

Yeah I prefer that too.

You and most guys on here also run 17 inch and up, much heavier then 13" miata slicks.

Small trailer in Ontario is the same as a big trailer, buy a plate once and that's it, it is good forever.
